Shellfish soup Clever jack was hungry but he did not have any money.There was only an empty,old shell in his cupboard.`I can`t eat this .`he thought;. He knocke on his neighbour`s door.She had more money than Clever Jack.She was aslo very mean. `How are you today?`he asked her. `I`m fine,thank you.`she said. `What do you want?` `Come and have dinner with me.`Clever Jack said.`I`m going to cook a very tasty shellfish soup.` `The rich old woman liked shellfish`thank you`.she said. I`m going to put this shellfish into a saucepan of water.`he said.`Then I`m going to put in some onions and cream.` He looked in his cupboard. `Oh.`he said .`I haven`t got any onions or cream.` `I`ve got some.`the rich old woman said. The rich old woman brought four onions and two jars of cream.Clever Jack made two bowls of tasty soup. The rich old woman said,`It`s very good soup ,but I can`t taste the shellfish.` `No.`Clever Jack said.`I`m sorry.I put in too many onions.` Moral:The clever one gets a free lunch.
